SALTVILLE, Va. Johnny W. Chapman, age 66, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Virginia Grant Chapman; infant sons, Johnny Wayne Jr. and Steven DeWayne; brother, Billy Marion Chapman; and sister, Betty Hayden. Johnny was a member of the Quarry United Methodist Church, a U.S. Air Force Veteran and a 25 year employee of Griffin Motors and 18 year employee of Marion Automotive Group. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Shelva Fullen Chapman; sister, Carol and Don McCray of Abingdon, Va.; mother-in-law, Mildred Call Fullen of Saltville, Va.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joyce Chapman of Bristol, Va., Mary and Jimmy Martin of Tannersville, Va., Jim and Sheila Fullen of Saltville, Va., Darlene Fullen and Bill Varner of Saltville, Va., Jack and Patty Fullen of Saltville, Va., Richard Fullen and Sandy Bridgewater of Johnson City, Tenn., and Vida and Steve DeBord of Meadowview, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Johnny W. Chapman will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 in the D.R. Henderson Funeral Home with Pastor Leonard Smith and former Pastor Bill Cahill officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mount Rose Mausoleum with Military Honors conducted by The Saltville V.F.W. Post 7328 and The Marion V.F.W. Post 4667. Pallbearers will be Greg Griffin, Eddie Matheius, Teddy Sweat, Bristol Arnold, L.T. Olinger, Jim Hicks and John Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Lamie and Tom smith. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, April 28, 2015 at the funeral home. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Drs., Nurses, staff and everyone at James Quillen V.A. Medical Center for all of their care given during his illness.
