Gary W. Mize, 74, of Brownstown, died at 3:50 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.
Survivors include his wife, Carol S. Carr Mize of Brownstown; sons, Jessie H. (Sharon) Mize of Seymour, Robert Gene DeWitt of Columbus, Harold J. (Roxanne) DeWitt of North Vernon and Thomas Kelly (Pat) Allen of Columbus; daughters, Elizabeth A. (Curtis) Smith of Hope, Dawn F. Hunter of Brown County, Shawn M. (Jody) Johnson of Columbus and Tammy L. (Jamie) Thixton of Columbus; brother, Pat (Becky) Mize of Georgia; sister, Wanda Mejean of Seymour; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by his first and second wives, Nellie M. Hawkins Mize and Joy R. Gearhart; a son, Wallace E. Mize; and a daughter, Sherry L. Roberts.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Brown officiating.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Freetown Pentecostal Church.
