He served as a Private in the U.S. Army and later retired from Chase Manhattan Bank Security. Arnold moved to the Catskills in New York where he was a charter member of the Cairo - Durham Elks. Finally, Arnold moved to Lockwood, N.Y., to be close to family. He was an avid hunter and handy-man who loved spending time with family and friends, especially at the Sayre Elks and Atlantic City.
Arnold was predeceased by his parents; former wife and friend, Pauline Rivenburg; daughter-in-law, Donna Pearson and great-grandson, Dylan. He was also predeceased by his brothers: Robert, Allen, and Joel Pearson.
Arnold is survived by son, Richard and his wife Carrie; sister, Joyce Pearson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; granddaughters: Crystal (Ricky) and Tina; great-granddaughter, Areya. He is also survived by extended family: Michael and Marikay Buiniskis, Shawn (Angie), Christopher (Bobbi) and Kevin (Courtney) Buiniskis; beloved friends, Brian and Cathy Balfour and children; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other close friends.
A time of gathering with family and friends will be Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013 from 2 to 5 p.m., and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly, New York, 14892. The celebration of Arnold’s life will follow the visitation on Friday at 11:00 a.m. A special tribute to Arnold’s life will be presented on DVD during the funeral service. Burial will be in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one’s favorite charity. Sayre Morning Times – February 20, 2013
