Glenna Mae Turner, 66, life-long Hardesty resident, died early Tuesday, October 31 at her brother's residence east of Hardesty. The daughter of Lola Mary (Randles) and John Benjamin Fox, she was born June 13, 1929 in Dalhart, Texas. The Fox family lived in the Range and Cammrick communities and Glenna attended the Cammrick country school before graduating from Hardesty High School in 1947. She attended Panhandle State A&M College in Goodwell and graduated with a degree in Home economics and a minor in English.

She taught in the Hardtner, Mullinville, and Plains, Kansas schools before she married David T. Turner on August 23, 1960 in Nevada City, NV. The Turner family lived in Denver, CO before returning to Hardesty in 1962. Mrs. Turner taught Home Economics and English in Hardesty in 1962-1966, the family then moved to Baker, OK. From the Fall of 1966 to the Spring of 1968, Glenna taught Home Economics and 7th & 8th grades in the Eureka Public Schools. After returning to live in Hardesty, Glenna served as Hardesty City Treasurer from 1974 to present. She was a member of the Hardesty Homemakers and Apostolic Faith Church.

Survivors include her husband, David Turner of the home in Hardesty; two daughters - Beverly Turner of Maud, OK and Diane Turner of Amarillo, TX; one son - Mark Turner of Hardesty; and four brothers and sister-in-laws, John A and Ruth Fox of Guymon, Rev. Jim and LaMoyne Fox of Balko and Bill and Louis Fox and Harry and Glena Fox, both of Hardesty.

Funeral services were conducted on Nov 3, at the Hardesty High School Auditorium with Rev. Jim Fox, paster of the Apostolic Faith Church of Balko and Rev. Ted Baker, pastor of the Apostolic Faith Church of Katy, TX officiating. Interment followed in Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon under the direction of Henson-Novak Funeral Directors.

A Glenna Turner Memorial has been established for the Harrington Cancer Center. memorials will be accepted at the Henson-Novak Funeral Home, Box 1306, Guymon, Ok.
