Emmett Brown, 91 of Columbia, MO, formerly of Paris, MO, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at his home.

He was born on June 21, 1925 in St. Louis, the son of Emmett and Cassie Grober Brown, Sr. Mr. Brown graduated from Mepham High School in Bellmore, NY. After high school, he attended Rolla School of Mines then transferred to Northeast Missouri Teacher’s College in Kirksville, MO, where he received a Bachelor's degree. He earned a master's degree degree from University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO. He married Janice Blake on May 4, 1947 in Hannibal, MO and she preceded him in death on October 26, 2012.

Survivors include three daughters; Jamie (Joe) Schwartzott of Ft. Meyers, FL, Diane (Michael) Ellis of Denver, CO and Elaine Brown of Salida, CO; nine grandchildren, Dionne Ukleja, Michele Etmad, Joe Schwartzott, Amy Schwartzott, Aaron Ellis, Mickele Thompson, Blake Maxey, Chaz Fountain and Cassie Fountain and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Mr. Brown served in the United States Army during World War 11, where he received the American Service Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal. He taught Industrial Arts in the Paris R-11 School District from 1952 to 1987. In 2006 Mr. and Mrs. Brown moved to Columbia, MO. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Columbia, MO.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 2:00 p.m. at Agnew Funeral Home, with Bishop Clayton Cheney officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Agnew Funeral Home. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
