Mildred Smith--Redfield
REDFIELD -- Mildred Smith, 78, Redfield, died Monday, Oct. 3, 1988, at James Valley Nursing Home.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with the Rev. James Reeb officiating.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery under the direction of Coleman-Thelen Funeral Chapel.
Mildred Afdahl was born July 21, 1910, in Flandreau to Knut and Hattie (Thompson) Afdahl. She married Leigh Smith on Sept. 4, 1932, in Redfield. They lived in the Redfield area. She had been a resident of the nursing home for a few years.
She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons, Roger Smith of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Jim Smith of Price, Utah; three daughters, Dona Jessen of Littleton, Colo., Mrs. Ralph (Leann) Martinez of Kemmerer, Wyo., and Mrs. Loren (Linda) Igo of Tulare; three sisters, Magaret Hofeman of Madison, Gladys Greene of Canton and Helen Dunne of California; one brother, Kenneth Afdahl of California; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, and four sisters.
