George J. Kuhlman passed away Thursday, July 27, at his home in Osakis following a heart attack.
Mr. Kuhlman was born April 15, 1877, in Lamar, Iowa, and was 73 years, 3 months and 12 days of age at the time of his death. As a child he moved with his parents to Menno, S. D., where he grew to manhood and was married to Anna Tochetter. Since their marriage they have made their home in Douglas N.D., and Huron, S.D., coming to Alexandria in 1930 where he has lived most of the time since. He was a life member of the Lutheran church.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Josh Hofer (Ella) of Huron, S.D., and Mrs. George Schild (Laura) of Wheaton, and seven sons, William and Walter of Alexandria, George, Jr., of Grand Forks, N.D., Oscar of Gaylord, Theodore and Herbert of Huron, S.D. and Rudolph of Long Beach, Calif. Eight grandchildren, two brothers, Richard Kuhlman of Menno, S.D., and John of Freeman, S.D., and one sister, Mrs. Maggie Memil, of Scotland, S.D., also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife who passed away Dec. 5, 1947, also one brother and one sister.
