Sara Francis Asher

Sara Francis (Bass) Asher, 54, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Ms. Asher, daughter of Elva Lee and Daisy Francis (Chitwood) Bass, was born January 20, 1961, in Doniphan, Missouri. She was a photographer in the newspaper industry. Sara enjoyed reading, sitting and caring for children and her photography work. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff.

Surviving are two children: Sara Brittany Asher and Anthony Devon Asher, both of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Sue (Carter) Griffin and Edie (Kevin) Dilbeck, both of Doniphan; and two sisters-in-law, Sue Bass of Springfield, Missouri, and Dorothy Smithson of Doniphan. Also surviving are 7 nieces and 4 nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews, whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Mickey Bass, Mitchell Bass, Benny Bass and Karl Bass.

Visitation will take place Tuesday evening, April 28, 2015 from 5 – 8 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon, April 29, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Matt Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Shirley Cemetery.
