Obituary for Johnny Warren Butler
Johnny Warren Butler, age 84, of Columbia, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at NHC Healthcare in Lewisburg, Tennessee.

Johnny was born to James Alvin Butler and Clara Mai Prince Butler on February 28, 1931 in Giles County, Tennessee. In 1959 he married Remona Cothran Butler and they had a good life together until she passed away in 2009. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Johnny was a very talented painter, having painted several antebellum homes in the area while operating Butler and Son Painting. He lived a simple life, but enjoyed hunting, especially rabbit and deer. He always enjoyed aggravating and picking on people.

Mr. Butler is survived by his children: Jeannie Graham of Columbia, Sandy (Dennis) Collins of Culleoka, Mary Sue (Gerald) Greggs of Lewisburg, Jimmy (Denise) Butler of Lewisburg and David Whitehead of Columbia; siblings: Eva Kubalak of Murfreesboro, Roxie (Charlie) Oxsher of Murfreesboro, Mary (William) Smotherman of Murfreesboro, and Carolyn (Lee) Hill of Cross Bridges; grandchildren: Kim (Bubba) Webb of Lewisburg, Annette (Michael) Sullivan of Lewisburg, Tracy (Tommy) Ring of Columbia, Brad (Callie) Collins of Columbia, Angel Collins of Culleoka, Nicole Britton of Lewisburg, Hannah (Dusty) Carrington, Austin Whitehead and Brittany Cole of Antioch; 3 step-grandchildren: Chris Collins, Dana Jones, Rodney (Bridget) Collins; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: James Alvin Butler and Clara Mai Prince; wife: Remona Cothran Butler; great-grandson: Jakob Franklin Collins; son-in-law: Ricky Graham; sisters: Ruby Bobo and Ruth Ervin; brother: Charles Butler; brothers-in-law: Claudie Ervin and Sherman Bobo; and nephew: Bobby Bobo.

Funeral services for Mr. Butler will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Bob Vassar officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at Williams Funeral Home

Derrick Hamlett, Frankie Hancock, Larry Bobo, Roscoe Brannon, Dusty Currington and Robert Shepherd will serve as pallbearers.
