Roy S. Masters, 96, of 41 S. Main St., Homer, NY, formerly of 71 Warren St., Tully, died Jan. 9, 1997 at the Cortland Memorial Hospital.
Born in Otisco Valley, he resided here prior to moving to Tully in 1950 and moved to Homer two years ago.
He was a retired Loan Officer for the Marine Midland Bank in Tully and previously had operated a Dairy Farm in Otisco Valley and attended the Tully United Methodist Church.
Masters served two terms as the former Mayor of Tully and was an active member of the Tully Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Tully Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Board of Directors of Elmwood Cemetery in Preble.
He is survived by a niece, Evelyn Masters of Preble; two grandnephews, Ronald and Wayne Masters both of Preble; two grandnieces, Marilyn Stoughton of Camden, and Geraldine Bradley of New Hartford; several great grandnieces and nephews, and several cousins.
Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Tully United Community Church, 5872 Meeting House Rd., Tully with the Rev. Nelson Reppert officiating. Spring Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in Preble.
Friends may call at the Hartwell Funeral Home, 11 Clinton St., Tully on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the Tully United Community Church on Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m.
The Tully Masonic Lodge will hold a Masonic service at the Tully United Community Church.
Contributions may be made to the Elizabeth Brewster House at 41 S. Main St., Homer or to the Tully United Community Church.
