She lived most of her life in Whatcom County. She graduated from Bellingham High School in 1940 and attended Western Washington College in Bellingham, where she played violin in the orchestra.
She outlived three loving husbands: Norman Goss (passed away in 1971), Robert Hyldahl (passed away in 1989), and Ben Brynildsen (passed away in 2012). She and her husband, Norman, owned and operated Goss Variety in Lynden for many years.
During her lifetime, Virginia was active in the Lynden United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and PEO. She loved to bowl, play cards, and entertain family, friends and neighbors. She also made great cinnamon rolls!
Virginia was feisty, funny, caring and will be missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Thursday April 30th from 2-4 PM. There will be a graveside service at Greenacres Memorial Park at 11 AM on Friday, May 1st, followed by a 1 p.m. Memorial Service at Lynden United Methodist Church, 500 N. 14th St. in Lynden.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the loving and caring staff at the Christian Health Care Center in Lynden.
Memorial donations may be made to the Lynden United Methodist Church or the Christian Health Care Center.
