Professional Boxer. A heavyweight boxer from 1911 to 1932, he was considered the primary challenger to the title, but due to the "color line" drawn by the white heavyweight boxers, he never had a shot at the title. He fought many of the top heavyweights, defeating Willie Meehan, Gunboat Smith and Charley Weinart. His final record was 75 wins (with 47 knockouts), 9 losses and 2 draws.
