Mr. Tom Buckner, age 88, of Broxton, GA passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Coffee Regional Medical Center, Douglas, GA following an extended illness.


Mr. Buckner was born on March 29, 1927 in Etowah, TN to the late Thomas Franklin Buckner, Sr and the late Margie Perkins Buckner. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He retired as Manager of Gibson-McDonald Furniture Company of Douglas, GA.


He is survived by his wife: Maryrae Lott Buckner of Broxton, GA; two daughters, Teresa Ann "Terri" (Warren) Winters of West Green, GA and Karen Pippin (Tom Hodson) of Gray, GA; Grandchildren: Jennifer (Ron) Morell, Asa, Jr (Kelly) Pippin, Chris (Jennifer) Pippin and Garrett (Britney) Winters; Great Grandchildren: Abbie Rae Morrell, Ruby Claire Morrell, Montana Pippin, C C Smith, Katie Smith, Kaylee Jane Pippin, Kyrie Jasa Pippin, Ella Kendall Winters, and Madelyn Grace Winters.


The Buckner family will receive friends and loved ones on Monday, April 27, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sims Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at Eastside Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Dr. John Dobbins officiating. Interment will follow in Broxton City Cemetery.
