Carolyn Oliver, age 68, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at her residence with her husband by her side and under the care of Affinis Hospice. The Tattnall County native had lived in Lyons for nineteen years before moving to Collins twenty eight years ago. She worked in food service for the Tattnall County Board of Education, retiring after twenty three years of service. Mrs. Carolyn loved to fish, cook and see about her grandbabies. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bennie and Lucille Spikes.
She is survived by her husband of 55 yrs, Wendell Oliver of Collins; children, Marty (Diane) Oliver of Lyons, and Ronnie (Stacey) Oliver of Collins; sister, Peggy (Carl) Braddy of Lyons; grandchildren, Kaleigh Oliver (Lyle) Odom, Chloe Oliver, Jamie Oliver, Lane (Jackie) Oliver, and Dane (Tabetha) Oliver; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday beginning at 6:00pm from the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Thursday, April 23, 2015 from the Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home with the Reverends, Greg Smith, Kenny Edwards, and David Daus. Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Affinis Hospice.
