She was a graduate of the Brillion High school and the School of Journalism of the University of Wisconsin, and served for many years as Asst Director of Publicity of Carleton College at Northfield, Minn. It was there she met her late husband, Prof. J. V. Uspensky, a Russian exchange professor. After their marriage, he became a citizen and accepted a post at Leland Stanford University at Palo Alto, California as a lifetime mathematics professor.
Mrs. Uspensky continued her residence in Palo Alto after he passed away.
