My Dad, Henry Layrue MAJORS was the son of Vaughn David MAJORS and Mary Louell HOPSON. He died October 14, 2004 in Long Beach, Los Angeles Co., CA. His sister, Mildred MAJORS Garvey of Redondo Beach, CA accompanied his body on the flight home to Knoxville, Knox Co.,TN and we buried him on October 19, 2004 in his birth town of Washburn, Grainger Co., TN.
He was the father of three children with his first wife, Sue Evelyn EVERETT, married in 1946. Their names are Henry Daniel "Danny" MAJORS (1947-1998), Nancy Sue MAJORS Winn and Robin LaRue MAJORS.
Dad is buried beside his parents, brothers and sisters at ACUFF CEMETERY outside of Washburn, Grainger County, Tennessee. He is NOT interred at Rucker Cemetery, nor are his parents, Vaughn David MAJORS and Mary Louell HOPSON or his siblings or his brother/sister-in-laws, which include Kenneth V. MAJORS, Milburn MAJORS, William McKinley MAJORS and Edith B. MAJORS, Leroy and Hannie WHITSON, and Hobert Greer WOLFENBARGER as recorded in error on this site by another contributor. Other members of their extended families are also listed in error at the Rucker Cemetery. I am in the process of trying to correct these listings.
