He was born January 28, 1957, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Leonard Barker and Elsie Hansen Barker. Bruce grew up in Salt Lake City and attended Granger High School.
On June 11, 1996, he married Shirley Ann Arrowwood in Provo, Utah.
Bruce worked at Super 8 Motel in Idaho Falls for the past two years since moving to Idaho Falls from Arizona.
Bruce was a Christian.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, building things and doing carpentry work. Bruce was a wonderful, hardworking man who loved spending time with his wife and family.
He is survived by his spouse, Shirley Barker, of Idaho Falls; sons: Robert (Rachelle) Wheatley, of Carson City, NV, and Keven (Lisa) Wheatley, of Rexburg, ID; brother, Vaughn (Paula) Barker, of Salt Lake City, Utah; and six grandchildren.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, Idaho.
