DALTON, BERKSHIRE Co., MA - Mr. Gilbert E. Adams, ( 65y ) d: January 30, 1970 - of 261 High St. died early this morning at his home. Born in Dalton, the son of Howard G. and Mabel L. Thompson Adams, he had lived here most of his life. He graduated from Dalton High School in 1923 and Bates College, where he was captain of the football team, in 1927. A communicant of the First Congregational Church, Mr. Adams was Past Master of Unity Lodge and a past patron of Berkshire Chapter 81, Order of Eastern Star. He was also a member of the GE Quarter Century and GE Pensioners clubs. He retired from the GE maintenance department in 1966, due to ill health, after 30 years service. Besides his mother and his wife, the former Harriet M. Parker, he leaves three daughters, Mrs. Roger Streeter of Sandy Hook, Conn., Mrs. Herbert Lewis Jr. of Dalton and Mrs. Wilmer Johnson of Tewksbury; a brother, Buel Adams of Dalton, and a sister, Miss Elizabeth Adans of Flushing, N.Y.
