1923~2015

Lorraine Jessie Ohlson Maynard Adams, 92, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2015 . She was born February 28, 1923, to Marie Bothilda Proctor and George Ephraim Ohlson in Salt Lake City. She spent most of her childhood in the city and later enjoyed a country life in Riverton when her mother married Vernon John Maynard.

Lorraine married Bryce L. Adams on February 26, 1941, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with five children, two sons and three daughters. They were longtime residents of Pleasant Grove and Orem. They loved to ride horses and were members of the Pleasant Grove Riding Club. They also enjoyed traveling and took many trips with family and friends.

Lorraine was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was called to serve in many organizations including the Relief Society, Primary and Young Womens (Mutual). She and her husband, Bryce, also served as tour guides at the Provo Temple. After Bryces passing and 50 years of marriage, she was fortunate to marry and enjoy her senior years with Claude McDonald and later, Lloyd Schlappi.

She is survived by her four children Phyllis (Marty) Gunderson, Overton, NV; Robert L. (Marilyn) Adams, Lindon; Linda (Bill) Ross, Henderson, NV; and Sheryl (Steve) Snyder, Boston, MA. She leaves 16 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her son, Stephen B. Adams, her husbands, her parents, her sister, Gloria Christiansen, and her many Maynard step-siblings.

A memorial service and internment will be held at the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery at 12 noon on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Olpin Family Mortuary of Pleasant Grove. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
