Carol La Von Waller was born on December 19, 1940, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She was the daughter of DeForest and Edna (Backman) Richards. Carol was baptized as an infant on April 6, 1941, at Church Hill Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth, at the Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake. She received her education in Buffalo Lake and was a graduate of the Buffalo Lake High School Class of 1958.
On July 5, 1958, Carol was united in marriage to Roger Waller at Evangelical United Brethren Church in Buffalo Lake. This marriage was blessed with three children, Warren, Twyla and Lori. Carol and Roger resided in Stewart, Minnesota. They shared 17 years of marriage until Roger passed away on January 24, 1975.
Carol was employed at the 3M Company in Hutchinson for 23 years. After 3M, Carol worked for Form-A-Feed, Inc. in Stewart, Minnesota. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stewart, Minnesota, where she was involved in the ladies bible study. Carol was also a member of the Stewart Lions Club. She volunteered at the senior dining program in Stewart, the McLeod Alliance for Victims of Domestic Violence, for the Challenged Children Organization and West Elementary School in Hutchinson. She also babysat for the Early Childhood Development Program.
Carol enjoyed baking, cooking, and doing things with her only grand daughter, Andrea. She enjoyed being outside, tending to her flower gardens and traveling. Carol especially cherished spending time with her family and friends.
Carol passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at the Hutchinson Health Hospital in Hutchinson, Minnesota, at the age of 74 years.
