Rebecca Lynn Whittley, 32, of Piggott passed away April 23, 2015 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. She was born on December 29, 1982 at Fort Hood, Texas. She attended the Piggott schools and was a 2001 graduate of Piggott High School. She was a proud member of the Piggott High School Lady Mohawks Basketball team. She received the “1000 Point Basketball” versus Brookland, Arkansas on December 28, 2000, an accomplishment of which she was very proud.

Rebecca accepted the Lord as her personal savior at the age of 9 and was baptized August 4, 1991. She was a life-long member of Piggott First Baptist Church. After high school, she began to pursue nursing training to enable her to be able to work with elderly patients in nursing homes.

She is survived by her parents Lisa Whittley of Piggott and Daniel Whittley of Waco, Texas; her brother Lee Whittley, and his wife Rebekah of Shell Lake, Arkansas. Her grandmother, Wanda Norred of Piggott, and an uncle Larry Norred and his wife Cathy of Piggott. Her cousins, Geoff Norred and his wife Missy and children Tyler and Macey Haygood of Piggott and Jordan Norred (USAF-Belgium). She has three nephews “Cottin” Kenneth Lee Whittley, Jevan Michael Whittley and Jahvid Wiley Ross Whittley of Kennett, Missouri. She treasured all her acquaintances in addition to many friends and former basketball teammates and competitors.

The funeral arrangements are being handled by Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home in Piggott. Visitation will be available after 6:00 p.m. Saturday April 25, 2015, at the funeral home. The memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church Piggott, Arkansas at 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon April 26, 2015. Visitation will be open to the public Sunday morning at the funeral home and from 12:00 until service time at the church. Burial is at Piggott Cemetery. Pallbearers are Ben Sisson, Bryan Dollins, Kirk Morley, Lee Whittley, Geoffrey Norred, Kaleb Beutel, Joshua Hicks, and David Beutel. Honorary pallbearers are John Jordan Norred, "Cottin" Kenneth Lee Whittley, Jevan Michael Whittley, and Jahvid Wiley Ross Whittley.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you would send your donations to either John 3:16 Ministries, 75 Holmes Road, Charlotte, Arkansas, 72522, or the Restoration Ministries, 801 North Illinois Street, Harrisburg, Arkansas, 72434.
