H. Keith Haines, loving father and devoted husband, passed peacefully on April 22 surrounded by his family in Fredericksburg, Texas. Services will be at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station at 2:00 P.M on Saturday, April 25, 2015. Interment will be held thereafter at the College Station Municipal Cemetery, followed by a reception at the funeral home to greet friends and family.

Mr. Haines was the fourth of five children born to Paul and Lydie Haines in Groesbeck, TX. The family moved to Bryan when Keith was in middle school. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin high school and enrolled Texas A&M, Class of '47 following in the footsteps of his father Paul,'17, his older brothers, Paul Jr. '41, and R. Lamar Haines '44. His brother David '51 followed. The four brothers all wore the same pair of Aggie boots, which were bronzed and dedicated to the Sam Houston Sanders Corps of Cadets Center.

At A&M, Keith studied at the College of Agriculture and was a member of The Singing Cadets and The Cadets Quartet. College was interrupted by World War II and the Korean War and after three years of service, he returned to A&M to complete his education.

In the summer of 1956, Keith served as a counselor at Camp Stewart in the Hill Country near Hunt, TX where he met Pattsie Andrews who as a counselor at Camp Mystic. The two fell in love and married in 1957 in Albany, TX. The couple settled in Bryan and soon welcomed three children, Laura, Andrea, and Gary.

Keith spent his career with the Texas Highway Department, where he worked as an appraiser for 29 years. Keith was an active member and one time president of the Bryan Noon Lions Club and an active member of the Men's Garden Club in Bryan. He was a dedicated servant of Christ and member of the First Baptist Church in College Station and later in Bryan. He sang in the choir and served as a deacon.
