Norma Eileen Hoover, age 91, formerly of Naperville, Illinois and Bella Vista, Arkansas, currently a resident of St. Mary's at Felician Village, Manitowoc died on April 22, 2015 at St. Mary's.

Born on December 6, 1923 in Independence, Iowa, Norma was the daughter of the late Clement J. and Ella (Smith) Weber. Norma attended and graduated Cum Laude from Mercy School of Nursing, Detroit, Michigan in 1947 achieving her RN. On April 29, 1950 she married Robert Joseph Hoover at St. John Catholic Church, Independence, Iowa. Together they enjoyed nearly 34 years of marriage. Bob preceded her in death on March 6, 1985. Norma had an accomplished career in nursing, working in surgical, industrial and school settings. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Health Services from The College of St. Francis in 1979 and continued as School Nurse Coordinator for Woodridge Illinois Public Schools. Norma and Bob retired to Bella Vista, Arkansas in 1983. Norma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an active community volunteer, avid bridge player, and enjoyed antiques, traveling and spending time with her friends. She was devoted to her faith in the Catholic Church.

Survivors include her four children and their spouses: Mary Jo (Jim) Hoftiezer, Nancy A. Hoover, Joe (Debbie) Hoover, and Judy Frankland; four grandchildren: David (Noelle) and William (Devon) Hoftiezer, Ian and Rachel Frankland; one great-granddaughter: Lia; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Jan (Irv) Lorenzen, Peggy (Don) Cunningham, one brother-in-law: John Hoover and his wife Glendene. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law: Monica and Raymond Weber.

At a date yet to be determined, Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Elkader, Iowa, with interment to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Villa Blue, St. Mary's Home, Felician Village, Karen Duval and Dr. Gary Schmidt and his staff, and Holy Family Memorial Hospice.
