Ethel M. “Pat” Hand, 82, of El Paso, IL and formerly of Ashland, IL died Friday evening, April 10, 2015, at Advocate Bro-Menn Hospital in Normal, IL.

She was born November 4, 1932 in Prentice, IL, the daughter of Lloyd and Ethel Rohn Summers. She married Gilbert Lee Hand on July 21, 1951 in Pleasant Plains, IL and he preceded her in death on August 9, 2011.

She is survived by two sons, Rick Hand (wife, Donna) of Ashland and Tom Hand (wife, Debbie) of El Paso; a daughter, Jill Houser of Decatur; 11 grandchildren; 7 great greandchildren; a sister, Betty Noel of Ashland; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Mark and Jane Hand; two brothers; and four sisters.

Pat was a graduate of Ashland High School. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker who, after raising her children, worked at Capitol Records in Jacksonville for over 25 years. She was a member of Berea Christian Church. A talented quilter, she also enjoyed creating craft items to share with family and friends and sell at area craft fairs.
