Beverly Hunt Adkins, age 81, of Birdseye, IN, passed away at 6:51 AM, Thursday, April 23, 2015, at her home under the care of Gentiva Hospice.

Beverly was the daughter of the late OA "Britt" and Mabel Newton of Henderson, KY. She attended Lafayette and Ashland High Schools, graduated from the University of Kentucky, earned a master's degree in Education from Western Kentucky University and earned 30 hours above her rank 1. She was a teacher at Bend Gate and Union Town Elementary Schools and retired from the Union County School system. Beverly was a member of Chapel Hill Methodist Church. Among her many accomplishments in life she earned a gold medal in the senior Olympics in figure skating. She was a big Kentucky Wildcat fan and loved to entertain her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Newton.
She is much loved and survived by:

Relatives and friends are invited to Beverly's Life Celebration from 10:00am until service time on Saturday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the funeral home with Reverend Ted Burke officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.
