Vernon L. Meyer, 85, of Kansas City, MO (Northland) passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at his home. He was born July 13, 1929 in Falls City, NE to William H. and Louise M. (Fischer) Meyer.
Vernon graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He spent the majority of his working years in sales, most notably for Jack Miller and his dealerships. Vernon was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church and was very devoted to his church and his family.
He married Carleen Y. La Clair in Kansas City, MO in 1969. She survives of their home. Additional survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Alfonso of Tampa, FL; a son, Vernon L. Meyer, Jr. of Lake City, FL; and a brother, Gary W. Meyer of Raymore, MO.
The Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2015 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 7207 NW Highway 9, Kansas City, MO 64152. Following the Rosary, the family will receive friends until 11:00 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will then begin at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Joseph Cisetti as celebrant. A private family committal service will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Vincent dePaul Society at St. Therese.
