Virgie Lea Wallace, 93, of Midwest City, passed away on April 23, 2015. She was born in Canadian, Texas to the late Marian and Emma Belle Worley. She grew up in Western Oklahoma and graduated from Reydon High School. She married Tom Wallace, love of her life, on January 18, 1947.

Virgie is preceded in death by her beloved husband Tom Wallace, her parents Joel and Emma Belle Worley and her siblings Orien Worley, Willa May Taylor, Anna Ellis, Jessie Creech, Joel Worley and Oleta Spurlin.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren:

Daughter Sandy, husband Don and children Katie and Kyle Jones–Ramsey; Danny and Lesley Proctor — Canton, Callon and Cailey.

Daughter Mary, husband Steve and children Kasey and Mark Stancell–Kelly and Madi; Tara and Jason Hicks–Liam, Eliana and Leyton; Amy and Daniel Roberts–Afton; Nathan and Kylee Kelly.

Daughter Tommye, husband Jeff and children Jared and Paige Whitehead–Thompson, Bode, and Cooper; Joshua Whitehead and fiancée Jane McAteer; Tomi Jo and Nate Crawford—Daxton and Tomie Ann; Brother, Carl Laverne Worley, sister in law Wilma Worley and numerous nieces and nephews.

Virgie was known as a woman who loved God and her family. She dedicated her life to serving both. Virgie served as a Bible school teacher for over 40 years at Eastside church of Christ. She was also a skilled seamstress, using her talent to bless her family and those around her.

Virgie was an amazing cook. She was known for her pies, a skill she passed on to her daughters and granddaughters. Virgie—Mom—Granny will be deeply missed by those blessed to know and love her. In Lieu of flowers the family request donations be sent to Burnt Cabin, PO Box 97, Tahlequah, OK 74465-0097 or Camp Rock Creek, PO Box 7307, Moore, OK 73153.

The family will greet friends on Friday, April 24, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.at Matthews Funeral Home. Services will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at the Edmond Church of Christ with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Norman, OK.
