Obituary: Isadore Hon departed this life June 1, 1898, age 66 yrs. 11 months and 22 days deceased. Was native of France, emigrating to America in 1857, and one year later to Izard County, where he met his future wife, Nancy Elizabeth Nelson, to whom were born 10 children, viz; Charles, Mary Ann, Sophfronia Bullard, William, James Alex, Lara Watson Barnes, Emma, Cleveland, Mortimier Monroe and an infant which died at 7 weeks old. Of these, two have gone before, Mary Ann and Mortimier Monroe. The rest lives in or near Cushman. In 1861 he removed to Ill. where he resided for 7 yrs. Then he returned to Sharp Co, and one year later came to Independence Co, where he has resided until the Master called him. He was converted in 1874, and at the time of his death was a member of the Oak Grove Church, loved and respected by all who knew him. Was a faithful and honored worker for Christ. Isadore Hon's death leaves a vacancy which cannot be filled. Funeral services were held at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. There were over 100 of his friends and they bore testimony by their presence, the love they bore him. (Obituary from Becky Wood's files) Isadore's widow, Nancy Elizabeth, remarried on Jan 20, 1902, in Ind. Co AR to James S. Jones, who was also from the Cushman area. The latest I found a record for Nancy was in the 1920 Cushman, AR census. Do not know where Nancy is buried, although would guess she was buried at Pleasant Valley Cem. James Jones is thought to be buried at Francis Cem. near Cushman, so she could be buried there as one of her daughters is also buried there.
