Survived by son, Arthur Messler, Jr. and brother and sister-in-law, Alfred Hubert and Mary Messler Chauncey (Memorial #5869202)of Screven, GA.
Attended Florida State University and Miami University. Received her Masters degree from Appalachian State University, Boone, NC. A Miami-Dade County school teacher for 33 years, she taught at Shenandoah Jr. High and was principal of Rockway Jr. High.

N.B. Mrs. Messler's first name was Myoma also spelled Mioma, but as an adult she preferred to use the name "Irma" also spelled "Erma". The first reference to her as Miomi, was in the Aug 10, 1910 Hunter Herald. Nov. 14, 1920, Miami Herald: Myoma Kahl, in the 6th grade, made the honor roll for receiving . . .excellent grades in both scholarship and deportment.[She was attending Redland Farm Life School]

Sept. 23, 1923, Miami Herald: . . .Myoma Kahl, who has been living with her grandparents in Redlands, has taken up her home with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. I. R. Matthews [living in Sweetwater]. She will enter the freshman class in the Miami high school.
