Guy Vincent Rites Held Here Monday, Burial At Ord
Death Occurred In Accident While Working On Power Line.
Funeral services were held in the Methodist church Monday afternoon for Guy Gerald Vincent, whose death occurred accidently [sic] last Wednesday while working on a power line northeast of Ord, and burial was made in the Ord cemetery. Rec. C. F. Luscher conducted the rites.
Mr. Vincent, line foreman for the Consumer's Public Power district was working on a pole changing some lightning arresters on a 6600 volt power line and in some way came in contact with the heavy voltage. Geo. Olson, another lineman, was with him and with the aid of a rope pulled him loose from the "hot" wire and then called for help from Ord.
Members of the Ord Fire Department and physicians attempted to resuscitate him but death had apparently occurred instantly, and nothing could be done.
Guy Vincent, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Vincent, was born November 13, 1900 at Ord. On June 26, 1918 he was united in marriage to Miss Mable Mowery of Minatare. Six children were born to this union: Donald at home, Rupert in the U. S. Navy; Irene of Seattle, Wash., Virginia, Dean and baby Jerry at home. These, with his mother, Mrs. Bessie Vincent of Seattle; two brothers, Ross of Scottsbluff and Randall of Seattle, survive him. His father preceded him in death several years.
For the past seven years, Mr. Vincent had worked for the power company, formerly the Western Public Service and now Comsumers Public Power District.
