Lena H. Hill, being 100 years, 1 month, and 30 days old, entered into heaven’s gates on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at the Tri-cities Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Jackson Bottom at Cumberland on February 23, 1915 to the late Jason and Margaret Gilliam Jackson. In her earlier years, Lena worked 27 years as an Executive Assistant to the President of the Old Kent Bank in Grand Rapids, MI. She was a faithful member of the Lewis Creek Pentecostal Church who loved her flower gardens.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her late husband, Milton Hill; sisters, Edna Scott, Verna Johnson, and Vera Overby; and brothers, Archie and Paul Jackson.
Lena will be missed by her family; sister, Wilma Sturgill of Spring Hill, FL; brother, Jason Jackson, Jr. of Knoxville, TN; several nieces and nephews; and a host of family of friends.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of the Tri City Funeral Home, 506 Holly Street, Benham, KY on Friday, April 24, 2015, between 6 – 8 PM. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at 2 PM with the Reverend Ron Oplinger officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Peaceful Acres Cemetery at Hiram, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
