Margaret Cline
Obituary

FRANKFORT: Margaret Vernon Muse Clift Cline, 92, went to be with her Lord on December 21, 2010, at Valley View Alzheimer's Care Center, Frankfort, OH, following a lengthy illness.

Born September 5, 1918 in Bryson City, NC to Horace C. and Arizona Davis Muse, she graduated from Belmont High School in Gaston County, NC in 1938.

She was among the first women to join the WAVES (US Navy) when President Roosevelt signed a law permitting women to serve during WWII. Her military career began in the Engineering Room, then was transferred to the War Information Room, Kingsville, TX. She was very supportive of all military persons and veterans, and a member of the DAV Auxiliary. She also volunteered at Logan Elm Health Care Center in Circleville, OH.

A marriage on February 1, 1944 to Charles F. Clift, deceased, produced her three daughters of whom she was very proud, Mary Ann (Charles Bayley) Clift, West Carrollton, OH, Carol (Owen) Fabert, Chandler, AZ, and Faye (Alan) Johnson, Chillicothe, all surviving. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Rebecca Edgington, Deborah Jenkins, Steven (Andria) Edgington, Lisa (Joe) Vela, and Michael (Georgia) Edgington; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jessie (William) Holland, Dallas, NC.

On June 18, 1960 she was married to James R. Cline, and enjoyed 43 years with him before his death on May 9, 2003. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Cloninger Dellinger and Mary Alice Lewis; and three brothers, Clarence, Clyde and Charles Muse.

During her life, Margaret enjoyed working in the church, writing to her numerous pen pals around the world, needlework (she is especially known for her crocheted and knitted afghans), and bowling in the seniors' league. She was a long time member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and also attended Grace Baptist Church, where her friends and neighbors Larry and Barbara Ault ministered.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the Haller Funeral Home, Pastor Rick Birk, of Tyler Memorial United Methodist Church officiating, and Larry Ault assisting. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Garden. Friends may call 2 hours prior to the service at Haller's. Memorial contributions may be made in Margaret's name to Heartland Home Health Care and Hospice, 35 Bierly Road, Suite 2, Portsmouth, OH 45622. Her online memorial register is available at: www.HallerFuneralHome.com.
