Tommy Coolidge Hughes, age 87, of 1507 Tremont Drive, Asheboro died Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at his home.
Mr. Hughes was born November 24, 1924 in Asheboro to Tom and Frankie Loflin Hughes. He was an Army veteran of WWII and retired from Randolph Electric Membership Corporation after 40 years of service. He was a loving husband and grandfather. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by his sons, Thomas Wayne and Jerry Kenneth Hughes.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannette Robbins Hughes; grandchildren, Starla Hughes Beane and her husband Kevin of Asheboro, Angie Hughes Voncannon of Asheboro; great grandchildren, Hannah Jeannette, Brooke Ashley and Kenneth Reece Beane all of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 13, 2012 from 1:00 - 2:00pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Tim Pheagin officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
