Mother: Martha ANDES Batman
From the Holt County Sentinel-August 21, 1914
"Denzil Batman, son of O.D. Batman, about four miles southeast of Mound City, in the Blair school district, died at his home, Tuesday, August 18, 1914. He took sick about the first of June, 1914, and since the 29th of June, had been confined to his bed, from what, after several consultations, the doctors decided was an abscess on the brain.
He was born October 27, 1887, and would have been 27 years of age, had he lived to the 27th day of October, 1914.
The funeral was held from the South Bethel Church, in the Shiloh school district, Thursday, August 20.
He was an exemplary young man, held in the highest esteem by all that knew him, and his passing to the other side will leave a void in the hearts of many relatives and a host of friends."
