Funeral services for Edward “Skeeter” Rayford Bolin, Sr. 74, of Salley, SC will be held four p.m. Friday, April 24th in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston with the Reverends Adam Hensley and Floyd Dukes officiating; burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Springfield, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made in Skeeter’s memory to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, 150 Hi Cotton Lane, Springfield, SC 29146. Skeeter passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015.
Born in Aiken County, SC he was a son of the late Odom Bolin, Jr. and Essie Anna Sons Bolin. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He worked as a carpenter for a number of construction companies and also worked at Graniteville and Columbia Woolen Mills, Augusta Fiberglass, SRS and Daniels Construction.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Walker Bolin of the home; daughters, Melissa B. Brodie of Neeses, Laura Lynn B. (Randy) Strock of Salley; son, Edward Rayford Bolin, Jr. of Neeses; grandchildren, Michael, Tony, Samantha, Crystal and Donna; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Linda B. (Charlie) Durst of Batesburg. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Faye Rivers and a brother, Henry Junior Bolin.
