Eva "Jane" Barnes, 90, Lanark, IL, died Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at Presence St. Joseph Center in Freeport, IL, and reunited with her loving husband on their 71st Wedding Anniversary Day. Jane was born October 23, 1924, in Detroit, Michigan; the daughter of Howard and Eva Belle (Schram) Ross. She had been residing at Heritage Woods in Freeport for the past 2 years. She worked at Economy Insurance, Freeport Memorial Hospital, Forster-Appelt and Gold Nugget Foods. She was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church and Ladies Society in Shannon. She enjoyed conversing with friends and neighbors, and keeping our feet warm with her knitted slippers. The love most deep in her heart was for all her children, grand and great-grandchildren whom she was most proud of. She will be dearly missed by her loving family. Survivors include Bill (Lynn) Barnes of Westland, MI, Curt (Connie) Barnes of Dixon, IL, Bev (Gary) Dyson of Lanark, IL, Keith (Melissa) Barnes of Middleton, WI, Kevin (Amy) Barnes of Lanark, IL; daughter-in-law, Julie Barnes of Wheaton, IL; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a great-great- grandson; and dear friend, J.R. Perez of Freeport. Preceding her in death were her husband, Ernie; her parents; a step-mother; three brothers; one sister; son, E.J.; daughter-in-law, Barb; and two granddaughters, Jennifer and Missy. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 27, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Shannon, with internment following at St. Wendelin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 4:30 p.m. Sunday, April 26, followed by a reciting of the rosary; also at St. Wendelin Catholic Church. A memorial has been established in her memory. Arrangements are being handled by the Russell-Frank Funeral Home.
