Joseph Jude John Norton, 67, of St. Joseph, passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 20, 2015 at his home.
Joseph was born on January 18, 1948, in Deadwood, S.D., to the late Frank and Eleanor (Lepper) Norton.
He graduated from Riggs High School in Pierre, S.D. in 1966, and earned a Masters Degree in Public Administration.
Joseph proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine during Vietnam. He received the following service medals: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ device.
He worked for St. Joseph Light & Power and was the owner of Woodbury Pest Control. Joseph was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Joseph married Patricia Ann Wilson in Miller, S.D. on January 30, 1971.
In addition to his parents, Joseph is preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Edith and Marvin Wilson.
Surviving family includes: wife, Patricia Wilson; two daughters, Jessica Ann Norton and Ashley Nicole Norton; grandson, Milo Emerson Sylvester Lewis; and brother, Dylan Norton.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2015, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Inurnment: Mt. Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph.
Parish Rosary at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church.
The family has requested memorials in care of the family or the funeral home.
