Barbara Arthur, 83, went home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2015, surrounded by her family. She joins her husband Bud (Walter) of 63 years. Barbara was born in Wenatchee, Washington on May 17, 1931. She attended school in Wenatchee and Tacoma. She studied and worked as a nurse for a year at Tacoma General. Bud and Barbara were married in January of 1951. Their daughter was born later that year and their son was born in 1953. She attended the Evangelistic Tabernacle and G Street First Assembly of God / Tacoma Life Center where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Barbara joined a bowling league with her friends in the late 60’s and enjoyed many years of strikes and gutter balls. One of her favorite hobbies was spending time in her yard gardening. She was a wonderful baker and made desserts for every occasion. Shopping with her daughter was another favorite past-time. Another favorite thing was going to Pao’s Donut shop for coffee, donuts and good conversation with family and friends as often as she could. Barbara liked to be at home but when Bud and her would travel it was usually in the earlier days with her sister Eldora and brother-in-law Harry and brother Walt and sister-in-law Virginia to Canada, California and Leavenworth. They continued to travel off and on with her brother Walt and sister-in-law after her sister Eldora passed away and enjoyed many adventures together over the years. They also took a few trips with and enjoyed grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
