Lucas County Poor House and Infirmary was operated by the county. Their burials were placed in Sunshine Cemetery. People were buried here if the patient had no family or no family members claimed them upon death. This cemetery was removed in 1985; 1700 bodies were expected, but close to 4,000 bodies were actually found. Bodies were reinterred at Forest Cemetery in Toledo. No burial records exist. Archeology records of the excavation are available through the Canaday Center at the University of Toledo.
