Simon Hoyt was a son of Michael Hoyt and his wife Agnes ______.

He married
(1) Joan Stoodley on 4 November 1617 in Marshwood, Dorsetshire, England and
(2) Susanna ______ in 1631 in Dorchester, Massachusetts.

Simon Hoyt of West Hatch, Somersetshire, England was homage juryman in 1619 and 1620.

He paid a 20 shilling fine in 1620 for cutting down six oak trees on his rented land in West Hatch.

He is said to have sailed from England on the Lyon's Whelp, which left Gravesend, Kent, England on 25 April 1629, and arrived in Naumkeag Harbor (Salem, Massachusetts) on 29 June 1629.

Removed to Dorchester by 1633, where he served as a fence viewer.

The inventory of his estate, taken on 24 May 1659, included a home lot, household items, land, a mill, horses, cattle, swine, farm implements, a plow, 10 bushels of corn, 25 bushels of wheat, 40 bushels of peas and 80 pounds of tobacco.
