Eisner, Vernon J.

Vernon J. Eisner, age 87, a rural Manitowoc resident, died Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers, Wisconsin.

Vernon was born on June 24, 1927 in Manitowoc County, son of the late Edward and Margaret (Kaufmann) Eisner. He married the former Marceedas Wagner on January 28, 1950 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Vernon was employed with Eck Industries of Manitowoc and was a member of their 25 Year Club. He also farmed in rural Manitowoc and drove school bus. He was past director of the Manitowoc Farm Bureau and a past member of the Holy Name Society of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Vernon along with his wife were foster parents for numerous children. After retiring he enjoyed repairing clocks and was known as "Father Time". Vernon enjoyed playing sheepshead and spending time at the cottage on Horseshoe lake.

Survivors include his wife: Marceedas Eisner: Manitowoc; three sons and two daughters-in-law: Andrew Eisner and special friend, Karolyn Schultz, rural Whitelaw; George and Cheryl Nechodomu, Nebraska; Michael and Lora Eisner, rural Manitowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law: Christine and Danny Zamzow, Fond Du Lac; Cathleen and Dennis Luckow, rural Manitowoc; 19 grandchildren: 15 great grandchildren: two sisters: Jeanette Herrmann, Manitowoc; Bernice Riesterer, St. Nazianz; one sister-in-law: Evelyn Wagner, Marinette; nieces, nephews, others relatives and friends also survive.

Vernon was preceded in death by one son: Vernon Jr., two grandchildren; Jennifer Eisner and Brian Strauss; two brothers and sisters-in-law; Paul and Alice Eisner, Lloyd and Leona Eisner; four brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law; Norbert Herrmann, Lester Riesterer, Daniel Mrotek and his wife Armilla, Edward Wagner; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Frank S. and Johanna Wagner.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2015 at St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, Newton. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. David Beaudry with burial to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Alverno.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4:00 PM. until 8:00 PM Sunday, April 26, 2015, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. led by Robb Spaulding. The visitation will continue on Monday April 27, 2015 from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, Newton.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Aurora Medical Center of Two Rivers for their care and compassion shown toward Vernon and his family. Also to the caregivers of St. Thomas Catholic Community for their generosity and visits with Vernon.
