Penny Nichols Barber passed away unexpectedly on Christmas Day, 2014 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was 73 years old.

Penny was born on November 21, 1941 in Judyville, Indiana to Rudolph and Frances Nichols. She married Donald Barber on October 2, 1970; he preceded her in death in 2006. They are parents of Kara (John) Edie of Linden, who survives. Penny is also survived by her first husband, John Ross, who is the father of her children Lisa (Bob) Premil of Portage, Jackie (Ed) Crook of Fort Worth, and Greg Ross of Yacolt, Washington.

Penny loved traveling, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends. She worked for Kmart Corporation for over thirty years in Michigan City and La Porte, Indiana.

She leaves behind four children who miss her every day; six loving grandchildren, Andrea Hurst, Eric Premil, Alex Crook, Nicholas Crook, Riley Edie and Jeremy Edie; and five great-grandchildren who adored her and called her "GG". She also leaves behind one brother, George Nichols, and three sisters, Carolyn Chisko, Roberta Korfias, and Charlotte Gianetti. Penny was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sisters, Fontella Mead and Priscilla Duford.

Cremation was chosen and a celebration of life will take place this summer.
