Sandy McGuire passed away on Monday, April 13, 2015 in Stillwater, Okla.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 20, at the First United Methodist Church in Stillwater, with Associate Pastor Kyle Anderson officiating.

Sandy was born Sept. 29, 1946, to Ray and Frances (Barrow) Swisher in Warrensburg.

She loved Missouri and the people who made her hometown “home.” She grew up in Centerview, around her father’s farming operations and developed a love for farm life.

She was a bright and avid learner. She graduated from College High School in Warrensburg in 1964, and earned her way to study at Central Missouri State College, Warrensburg, earning a degree in accounting.

She worked in Kansas City for a variety of firms before moving to Stillwater to start her own business, Farm and Home Supply. She loved working with farmers and ranchers and thought the best way to do so was to supply them with the goods and hardware they needed. Her store was a fixture on South Boomer Road for nearly 38 years.

She was also instrumental in helping dozens of young people learn the ways of the business world while working in the store.

She retired from the day-to-day retail life in 2008, and after her husband, Mike McGuire, passed away, she started traveling the world with friends. Over the last several years together with her group of dedicated friends visited several countries and lots of vacation spots around the U.S. She was always looking forward to and planning for her next big trip.

Sandy is predeceased by her mother, Frances B. Swisher, and husband, Michael W. McGuire.

Sandy is survived by her son, Ray E. Little, and wife, Sarah, of Stillwater; her father, Ray Swisher, of Warrensburg; her brother, Richard Swisher and wife, Lisa, of Warrensburg; stepson and daughter-in-law, Michael “Mac” McGuire and Sherry of Fort Riley, Kan.; grandsons Blake and Connor Little, Samuel and Aza McGuire, and granddaughter, Maggie McGuire; Stephanie Swisher and family; and Douglas Swisher.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.
