Amy was born and raised in MA and enlisted and served in the WAC in Vietnam, not long after graduating high school. She has since made the LA area her home. After various jobs as clerk/typist and cosmetologist, she received an AA Degree from LA City College and went on to work as an Occupational Therapist Assistant, most recently with Kedren Community Mental Health Center.

Amy Louella Carter served in the Women's Army Corps June 10, 1968 to December 15, 1970 as a Specialist 4 Clerk-Typist and was stationed at Long Binh, Vietnam working at Headquarters, USARV, G-4, Maintenance & POL January 1970 to December 1970.
