Professional Football Player. For seven seasons (1960 to 1966), he played at the defensive end position in the American Football League with the Buffalo Bills, New York Titans/Jets and Miami Dolphins. He played collegiate football at the University of Nebraska, and was elected by the Cleveland Browns during the 18th round of the 1957 National Football League Draft. He served with the United States Army prior to joining the Bills of the newly-formed American Football League. He his impact on the league was immediate, as he earned First-Team All-Pro honors during his rookie season (1960). In 1961, he achieved Pro-Bowl status. He had the distinction of being on the Miami Dolphins' roster during their inaugural season of 1966. After retiring from football, he worked in the real estate industry and operated his own appraisal business. He was inducted into the the University of Nebraska Athletic Hall of Fame in 1987.
