Cindy Rene Brown, 59, of Steele passed away Monday, April 20, 2015, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born to Yvonne Whitt Pery and Jackie Pery on Sept. 29, 1955, in Memphis. She was a 1973 graduate of South Pemiscot High School. She retired from the Missouri Division of Family Services, where she was employed as a case worker. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Hayti.
Ms. Brown was preceded in death by one son, Jason Jarred, and her grandparents, James and Clodeth Pery and Jesse and Geraldine Whitt.
Survivors of Ms. Brown include one daughter, Allyson Brown; mother, Yvonne Counsell; father, Jackie Pery; one sister, Vanessa Pery, and two brothers, David Keefer and Daren Keefer.
Funeral services for Ms. Brown were held Thursday, April 23 at John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Pastor Doug Wahls officiating and Freddie Pugh providing the instrumental music. Interment followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Justin Cline, Bradley Cline, Patrick Pery, Logan Counsell, James Harold Pery and Scott Hillhouse.
John W. German Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of arrangements.
