She was born on October 27, 1929 in Cotton Valley, LA and was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Omer and Annie Beatrice (McMichael) Backus; husband Thurston Howell Black; two brothers; and one sister.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Sharon Gail Rawls (Ray) of Magnolia, TX; son Ronnie Glenn Black of Sylacogee, AL; grandchildren Darrin Shane Rawls, Danny Raymond Rawls, Rachel Amy Crowley, Jacob Aaron Black, Joshua Matthew Black; and ten great grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, April 22nd from 12 to 1:45 PM at Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia, AR with graveside services following at 2 PM at the Memorial Park Cemetery with her grandson Darrin Shane Rawls officiating.
