Esther L. (Peterson) Ceruti, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, passed away at home on Wednesday April 15, 2015. She was 94 years old. Beloved wife of over 65 years to Everett A. Ceruti and the loving mother of Katherine E. Ceruti both of Stoughton. Other survivors include nieces, nephews, her two closest friends, Mary Pappas of Stoughton and Norma Duhamel of Brockton and close family friends, Robert and Dawn Bellay of Stoughton. She was also a sister to the late Astar Peterson and Alf Peterson. Born Dec. 20, 1920 and raised since age 6 months in Stoughton, Massachusetts, she was a daughter to the late Arvid and Yudit (Petterson) Peterson. Esther attended Stoughton Public Schools and was a 1940 graduate of Stoughton High School. She was employed as a Jewelry Representative for the former Marell Distributors in Walpole for over 24 years. She was also employed in the Photography Department at the former Edgars Department Store in Brockton as a Photo Finisher and was responsible for manually coloring the black and white photos and making colored pictures from them. Her hobbies included, cooking, knitting, skiing, baking and crocheting. Mrs. Ceruti was also a former member of the Stoughton Womens Club and the Michael Romanuk VFW Post 1645 in Stoughton. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 4 - 8 p.m. in the Sheehan, Lowe & Powers Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Dr. Gordon Postill, officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. -
