TEXAS CITY — Adele Virginia Lee McKay entered the gates of Heaven at 9 a.m. Sunday morning, January 16, 2005, at the age of 84.
She was born October 26, 1920, to Archie and Lillian Voight in Galveston, Texas where she resided before moving to Texas City. She was a devoted homemaker and wife until the passing of her husband, Everette James McKay, Jr., lovingly referred to as Lucky. In 1963, she entered the work force in several capacities, including sales clerk and dress shop manager until she retired in 1985. Upon retirement, her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her sister, Elsie Tatum and husband Tanner; brother Archie Voight Jr. and wife, Shangy; daughter, Virginia (Ginger) Webb and husband, Tommy; son Everett James (Mack) McKay III and wife Diane; grandchildren, Lance and Tim McKay, the Rev. Tom Webb, III and wife Valerie, Ramona ( Webb) Holbrook and husband, Drew.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service honoring the life of Adele at Moody Methodist Church, 2803 53rd (53rd & Ave. U) in Galveston at 2 p.m., on Saturday, January 22, 2005.
