Barton, 85, of Madisonville, KY passed away, Saturday, April 18, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Barton was born on February 14, 1930 in Madisonville to the late Herbert Barton and Cassie Shadrick Barton. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Prowse Barton; one sister, Mary Olga Metcalfe; and two brothers, Thomas Barton and John Lyman Barton.

He worked as a postmaster. He was a Rotarian and a 60 year member of First Baptist Church. He was a current member of First United Methodist Church. He loved antique cars, entertaining friends, and BBQ'ing.

Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Glen Sowards and Rev. Dale Carden officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the service time on Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Frank DeFini, Larry Suthard, Duncan Metcalfe, Robert Metcalfe, Terry Prowse, and Hayes Kington.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church-Youth Ministry. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
